Phuket
Private villas, beach clubs and the widest choice in Thailand
01
The short version
Phuket is the easiest place in Thailand to marry if guests are flying in from several countries. It has an international airport with direct long-haul connections, hotels at every level and more private villas built for events than anywhere else in the country.
02
Why marry here
Phuket carries the most wedding infrastructure of anywhere in Thailand: hillside villas built for private events, experienced catering teams, florists who work at scale, and an international airport that most guests can reach without a domestic connection.
03
Best for
Couples with international guests, villa weekends of twenty to eighty people, and anyone who wants a sea view without giving up suppliers and back-up options.
04
What it feels like
The west coast is where sunsets happen — Kamala, Layan, Naithon and Cape Yamu are quieter than Patong and better suited to a wedding. Villas on the headlands give you a private property for two or three days rather than a few hours.
05
Venue types
Private cliff and beachfront villas, resort lawns and beach clubs, and a small number of chapels and ballrooms for larger or fully indoor celebrations.
06
Getting there
Phuket International Airport takes direct flights from several Asian, Middle Eastern and European hubs, and roughly hourly flights from Bangkok. Transfers to the main wedding areas take thirty to seventy minutes.
07
Best months
November to April is the reliable window. May to October brings heavier sea and rain, lower rates and greener scenery, and works well with a covered plan.
08
Weather by season
Driest and calmest from November to April. May to October brings the southwest monsoon: heavy but usually short afternoon downpours, greener landscape and lower rates.
09
The rain plan
Plan A is outdoors on the lawn or sand. Plan B is a covered sala, villa terrace or ballroom held on the same booking, with a call made four hours before the ceremony so guests are told once, not twice.
10
Getting your guests there
Direct flights from Europe, the Middle East, Australia and most of Asia. Transfers from the airport run 40 to 75 minutes depending on the beach. Guests can be spread across price levels within a short drive of each other.
11
A day here, as an example
Morning preparation in the villa, a late-afternoon ceremony as the light drops, sparkling wine and canapés on the headland, dinner on the lawn, then the party moving to the pool deck.
12
What drives the cost
The villa or venue hire is usually the largest single line, followed by catering per head and production. We quote every element separately so you can see what moves the total.
13
Legal notes
Ceremonies here are symbolic unless you register your marriage separately at a district office. Requirements differ by nationality, so confirm your own case with your embassy or consulate.
14
Styles that suit it
Beach ceremonies, luxury villa weddings and multi-day celebrations.
